The stunning sakura, or cherry blossom, is a breathtaking springtime beauty in Japan.
On home soil, Saké Restaurant & Bar is celebrating the arrival of spring with pretty floral displays and special cocktails available throughout September.
The In Bloom cocktail heros Roku gin, which combines six Japanese botanicals – cherry blossoms, cherry leaves, green tea (sencha), refined green tea (gyokuro), sanshō pepper, and yuzu – alongside traditional gin botanicals.
Sip on this seasonal cocktail at home.
- 30ml Roku gin
- 10ml lychee liquor
- 30ml lime juice
- 3 lychees
- 20ml sakura syrup
- 10ml egg white
- 2 lychees
- Sakura perfume
Spoon some sakura syrup into the middle of a coupe glass. Then muddle three lychees in a cocktail shaker tin. Add remaining ingredients to the tin and shake well. Double strain and serve in prepared coupe glass.
Garnish with two skewered lychees and spritz with sakura perfume.
