From the awards to the after-party at Alfred Place, Rockpool Dining Group catered the entire World’s 50 Best 2017 events. The focus was on quality produce and provenance. Our aim? To showcase the unique nature of Australia’s best produce.
The night itself was a barrage of excitement. After walking the red carpet guests were greeted by a huge centrepiece of fresh produce; seafood on one side – marron, lobster, abalone, oysters, whole tuna, KG whiting, coral trout; on the other end were sides of Wagyu, whole ribs and lamb barrels; all divided in the middle by renowned Artist Joost Bakker’s large floral installation.
Amongst the excitement, Libby Travers caught up with some of the big fish involved in the winning restaurants. We handed them a deck of The Rockpool Files playing cards with 52 different words, from terroir, creativity, wine, collaboration. This is what they had to say …
